7:00 pm: A Guide to Restoring Little Things that Run the World with Dr. Doug TallamyFebruary 17, 2021 – Online 301-320-4041 This program was presented at the Scott Arboretum on January 11th. It being shown with permissions. Dr. Doug Tallamy is a visionary leader. His newest book, Nature’s Best Hope: A New Approach to Conservation that Starts in Your Yard will be the focus of his program. A recent UN report predicts that as many as 1 million species will soon disappear because of human activities. Many of these are insects and nearly all species at risk, including humans, rely on insects. So how do we create beautiful landscapes brimming with the life that runs the ecosystems we depend on? Tallamy will remind us of the essential roles insects play, and describe the simple changes we must make in our landscapes and our attitudes to keep insects on the ground, in the air and yes, on our plants.
